Charleston Marriott Dedicates 'Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Conference Center' in Honor of Mayor Riley's 35 Years of Service to the City of Charleston. Also, Hotel Adds 15,000-Square-Feet of Meeting Space

Charleston, S.C. - Historic downtown's Charleston Marriott honored the City of Charleston Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr. yesterday with the dedication of the Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Conference Center to recognize Mayor Riley for his more than 35 years of service to the city.

Mayor Riley was on hand with Charleston Marriott executives for the ribbon cutting of the newly-named conference center.

"It's truly an honor to be recognized by the Charleston Marriott with the dedication of its Conference Center," said Mayor Riley. "The hotel has always been and continues to be a strong hospitality partner that helps keep Charleston a top destination choice for meetings and special events. And today, I'd like to express my gratitude for its ongoing improvements in an effort to fulfill the needs of our residents and visitors alike."

The ribbon cutting also marked the official opening of the Charleston Marriott's Crystal Ballroom, a 15,000-square-foot meeting space with event capacity up to 1,100.
