Best of the Best
Recognition of associates is an important part of what we do. Each of our individual properties participates in their own brand recognition programs as well as the State Hospitality Awards. Several JHM associates have been honored as outstanding associates through these programs.
JHM’s program of recognition is simply called the “Best of the Best.” In this program, up to 150 associates are nominated annually by managers, peers or colleagues. Nominees are associates who perform at a high level throughout the year.
Once the list is narrowed to a group of finalists, the finalists (along with a guest each) are flown to Greenville, South Carolina, home of JHM Hotels Corporate Office, for a formal event in their honor. They receive plaques, trophies and gift cards as well as recognition in front of their peers. It is truly a highlight for these associates and their families each year.
JHM Revenue Rocks
JHM Hotels realizes that a large group of associates, namely our sales and marketing team, has a substantial impact on the continued success of our hotels. In addition to our competitive bonus program, JHM Hotels offers other incentive programs and recognizes the outstanding leaders in this important area.
Each year, at the annual sales conference, recognition is given to our top sales leaders and sales professionals. In the past, awards have included all-expense paid trips to a luxury resort in the Caribbean; seven-day cruises to the Caribbean; and the use of a brand new BMW for a year. Each year the competition grows more intense for these great prizes, and all of the sales team looks forward to the announcements in early January.
We recognize that some of the best suggestions for improvement originate with our own associates. The President’s Council is an elite group of associates who have been recommended by their General Manager and Regional Director of Operations to meet with leadership at JHM headquarters up to four times a year. During that time, Council discusses property operations, associate relations and any other topics of interest and concern. The information is diffused to the Regional Directors of Operations and implemented where appropriate. Associates serve on the President’s Council for one year.
JHM Inner Circle Award
The Inner Circle Award is a competition for all General Managers to generate excitement and motivation toward JHM’s Five Star Model of Success: Revenue, Profit, Product, Guest Satisfaction and Associate Satisfaction.
Points are measured against brand and company standards and are awarded quarterly. The winners (usually the top 3) receive a trip to an exotic location, such as Spain, for themselves and a guest to explore the local culture. The award includes airfare, lodging and spending money.
